Dr. Richard Henry, a native Long Islander, is one of the region's most experienced veterinarians. His education includes a Bachelor of Science degree and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University. As an undergraduate student, Dr. Henry excelled academically, achieving Dean's List each semester. His academic excellence continued in veterinary college where he was awarded honors in every subject, which included small and large animal medicine. These achievements led to his induction into the veterinary honor society, Phi Zeta. The culmination of his education was graduating second in his class from the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1968.

Dr. Henry continued his achievements after graduation. Most notably he has grown Deer Park Animal Hospital into one of the areas most respected veterinary centers of excellence over the last 35 years. This progress stems directly from applying rigorous clinical standards of animal care with the highest ethical standards of medicine and business.

Dr Henry has been active in the community volunteering his time to animal shelters and speaking at local high schools. He served as Secretary of the Long Island Veterinary Medial Association and regularly attends continuing veterinary education classes. His pursuit of the highest levels of medical care is paramount to his mission to deliver superior veterinary services.

Dr. Henry serves on several Boards, including the James A Baker Institute for Animal Health for the Cornell University Veterinary College. His function there includes facilitating state-of-the-art animal research through endowment enrichment. As a result, he was honored with the Founders Award for exceptional dedication to the practices of the veterinary arts and the advancement of veterinary sciences.

Dr. Henry is married with three children. His hobbies include skiing, golfing, fishing and enjoying the company of his dogs, Hunter and Fargo.
